NEW Conviser Law Center: Authorized Visitors Policy
CONVISER LAW CENTER: AUTHORIZED VISITORS POLICY
Any visitor wishing to enter Conviser Law Center (CLC) must be registered in advance in the CLC Visitor Registration database. CLC faculty, staff, and students can access the database using the following link:
https://forms.
Arrangements for visitors should be made 24-hours in advance, whenever possible, so the visitor information is available to the Public Safety Officer (PSO) in advance of the visit.
Upon a visitor’s arrival, the PSO assigned to the front lobby security desk will check the visitor’s government issued identification card (ex. driver’s license, state identification card, or passport). The PSO is responsible for entering the visitor information into the Visitor Log, which includes the visitor’s full name, the CLC contact and office location, and the time the visitor arrived and the estimated departure time. The PSO entering this information in the Visitor Log should insert their initials in the final column of the Visitor Log. Once completed, the PSO will return the visitor’s identification and allow them access into the building.
If arrangements are not made in advance in the CLC Visitor Registration database, the following will apply:
- The visitor should call the CLC contact directly to let them know they are at the front lobby security desk and need approval to come into the building. The CLC contact can either:
a. Immediately enter the visitor information into the Visitor Registration database so the PSO sees that the visitor is now authorized to be in the building, or
b. Come down to the front lobby security desk to “vouch” for the visitor, who will then be logged into the Visitor Log by the PSO and granted access into the building. The faculty, staff, or student will need to bring their school ID down with them to verify their affiliation with the school.
If requested by the CLC contact and noted in the Visitor Registration database, the PSO will let the visitor know that the CLC contact has indicated that they will come down to the front lobby security desk upon the visitor’s arrival to personally escort them into the building. The PSO should instruct the visitor to call the CLC contact to let them know they have arrived so the CLC contact can come down to provide the requested escort.
