Section 1 Information
Description
In this course, students will be introduced to the concepts of professionalism, professional identity, and practice for lawyers. A key objective of the course is to assist students in beginning to cultivate a reflective mindset about professional life in the law and to develop the habits needed to exercise sound professional judgment as lawyers. The course will provide students with the basics of professionalism in the legal profession, a framework to assist them in forming their professional identity, and concrete career strategies in achieving their professional goals. Students will develop the skill of practiced self-reflection in legal settings, explore the kind of lawyer they want to become, and deepen their ability to apply their professional values in the practice of law. By participating in a variety of exercises, both within and outside the classroom, students will have the opportunity to cultivate the sense of professionalism that will serve them well throughout their legal careers.
