Description
This course provides students with an introduction to the law governing the futures and derivatives markets. Topics include the history of the futures markets and their regulation, the mechanics of trading and clearing futures and other derivatives instruments, the use of these markets for hedging, speculation and price discovery, the organization of contract and derivative markets, and the dramatic and on-going reforms called for by the Dodd-Frank Act and the practical application of related regulations.
